EXCAVATE THE TRUTH

Children’s Ministry of ECBC is excited to introduce “Destination Dig” Summer VBS Camp for ages 4 to 13 from August 9 to August 20, 2021. Our team of passionate and enthusiastic individuals are looking forward to welcoming your children for two weeks of discovering God’s amazing grace. Knowing that every family is different, we have planned for both virtual and in-person VBS. Instead of a “one-size-fits-all” approach, we created several options that will allow families of different comfort levels to learn and reconnect:
- Virtual VBS, at-home option
Let’s pack our bags and grab our gear! VBS 2021 is headed to present-day Israel where discovery awaits at Destination Dig. Kids will unearth more than dirt as they dig up exciting evidence that proves Biblical events were not just stories. As junior archaeologists, kids will explore real-life archaeological finds that have helped to uncover the truth about Jesus! Stories from the Bible will leap off the pages as they explore where Jesus walked and examine artifacts that bring the world of the Bible to life.
The virtual option will still be the primary camp experience. They will begin each day making breakfast together from the comfort of their own kitchen led by our favorite chef, Karine Chan, who will guide them through a delicious breakfast with ingredients provided by us. Then their trek will continue to Worship and Bible Study where we will dig into God’s truth. Along the way, they will create crafts, participate in fun fitness activities/games, sing and dance to cool songs, and explore missions, all through the Zoom platform.
Fees: $55 per child, which covers t-shirt, breakfast ingredients, and craft materials for 2 weeks.
- In-person Field Trip
Just as we did last year, we will have outdoor field trips in the afternoons from 2-4 pm.
- In-person VBS + Field Trip
We would like to offer a full day in-person VBS summer camp option from 10AM – 4PM for a maximum of 30 children between Grades 1-6. Children will be provided time to arrive to Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church at 10 AM after making breakfast together on Zoom at home. They will attend the daytime activities in-person in separate tents that will be set up in our church’s parking lot. In the afternoons, the children will be transported via a school bus directly to the field trip locations.
Fees: $155 for 2 weeks (include field trip transportation, t-shirt, breakfast ingredients, and crafts materials)
In this two-week summer camp, they’ll discover the truth of Jeremiah 29:13, that God reveals Himself to us when we seek and search for Him with all our hearts.
