Ryan was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science, focusing his studies on microbiology in 2017. Then, he received a call to go to the seminary to work with youth and young adults, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity from Taylor Seminary in 2022.
